LoFloor® 18
Low-Profile System
LoFloor® 18 is a low‑profile underfloor heating (UFH) solution designed specifically for suspended floor constructions, delivering high heat output through its uniquely engineered dual‑board design. The system consists of a 12mm Alu‑foil moisture‑resistant MDF base board and a 6mm Alu‑foil moisture‑resistant MDF top board, forming a total build‑up of 18mm. Together, these layers provide superior thermal efficiency, exceptional heat spreading and fast warm‑up times.
The printed top board includes pipe route indicators and screw‑fix locations, allowing installers to locate pipe runs easily and fix boards accurately without risk of damaging the pipe. Grooves in both layers ensure secure placement of the 12mm AmbiFlex® P12 pipe, maximising heat transfer and maintaining consistent water flow through the system.
Designed for refurbishments and suspended joisted floors where height must be controlled, LoFloor® 18 provides a robust, direct‑finish UFH solution suitable for carpet, wood and vinyl floor coverings (tiles should instead use AmbiDeck® 18 or AmbiDeck® 20).
System Components & Build‑Up
This dual‑panel construction provides a stable, high‑performance UFH platform with improved heat spread and installation precision.
Thermal Performance
Tested in accordance with BS EN 1264‑2:2021, LoFloor® 18 achieves up to 106 W/m² at 20°C room temperature with MWT 45°C and 0 tog covering. Performance will vary depending on covering type, pipe centres and building heat‑loss characteristics.
Floor Finishes

No. As long as the subfloor is flat and stable, LoFloor® 18 can be installed without fixing. If the subfloor can’t be fixed to, the system can be floated. The boards are staggered to maintain rigidity.
Step 1. Ensure the working area is clean, flat, structural and stable.
Step 2. Plan your pipe routes from the manifold to the heating zone. Pipes should be run under the structural flooring and then come up into the zone its serving. The base board should be drilled at a shallow angle to facilitate the pipe entering the board at an angle and not pushing up the cover panel in the process.
Step 3. Pipe each loop into the LoFloor® 18 base boards, leaving long enough length on the pipes to be routed back under the floor to the manifold. Take care to ensure that the pipe doesn’t get any debris in while routing them back to the manifold.
Step 4. Once pressure tested, fix your LoFloor® 18 top boards using the screw positions indicated on the panel. If more fixing is required, take care not to screw through the UFH pipes marked in blue on the top panel.
Step 5. You are now ready for floor finishes – Carpets, Vinyl and Wood can go directly on top. Tiles are not recommended over this floor. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for floor finishes.
