A Groundbreaking Innovation

Six years ago, Ambiente transformed the underfloor heating industry with the launch of AmbiDeck®. Designed to solve the challenges installers faced with traditional systems, AmbiDeck® brought together the best of insulation board and cement board systems to create something truly unique, an insulation board that you can tile on directly. Since then, it has remained a favourite among installers, delivering strength, insulation, and flexibility in a lightweight and cost-effective solution.

A Revolutionary Beginning

When AmbiDeck® first hit the market, it was nothing short of groundbreaking. Combining the workability of an 18mm high-density XPS insulation panel with the strength of a cement-coated surface, AmbiDeck® was engineered to take a range of floor finishes. Its universal design—complete with grooved radius returns and customisable channels—made it an installer’s dream.

As Gerry Shephard, Ambiente’s Business Development Manager, explained at the time:

“We wanted to combine the benefits of grooved insulation and cement board into one unique solution. The result is a system that’s easy to work with, lightweight, and strong enough to support tiled flooring while also offering insulation.”

In the years since its launch, AmbiDeck® has gained recognition across the industry for its unmatched performance. Of course, as with any innovation, imitators have emerged—because great ideas tend to inspire imitation. But while others may try to replicate the concept, there’s only one AmbiDeck®. Six years on, we’re proud to say we’re still leading the pack.

As the saying goes, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery—and we’re flattered. However, AmbiDeck® continues to outshine the competition, maintaining its reputation as the original and still the best.
